Electronic Engineer – Luxury Mega Yacht

The Electronic Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and service of all electronic equipment on board the vessel, including Information Technology, Broadcast and Communication systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and upkeep of the following onboard systems:
    • Onboard satellite communication systems (C-band, KU-band, Iridium, fleet broadband)
    • Internal communication systems (Telephone PBX/DECT, PA, UHF systems)
    • Emergency radio communication systems (GMDSS)
    • Internal emergency and safety systems (GA, Fire Central, Fireman patrol system)
    • Low Level Lightning, Talk-Back communication, CCTV, Telephone, Gangway Security and Vingcard systems
    • Bridge radar & navigation systems including electronic equipment in lifeboats and tenders
    • Office equipment such as copy machines, printers etc.
    • TV broadcast, Satellite TVRO, Sound & Light systems
    • All ships Audio & Video equipment, IPTV, Scandisplay Marine and Master Clock systems
    • Golf Simulator
  • Maintain and update relevant inventories
  • Ensure that Internet, TV/Entertainment and telephone service is always available to all Residents & Guests

Hiring Requirements

  • Diploma from a recognized and approved Technical College or Institution in Electronic Engineering with specialization in one or more of the following areas: audio-video electronics, computer-microprocessor system electronics, communication electronics, maritime electronics or similar.
  • Solid experience with Maritime electronics systems and environments
  • Proven IT background and experience
  • Minimum two years of Electronic Engineer experience onboard a passenger ship
  • Luxury Cruise Ship experience preferred
  • Electrical experience and ETO certification highly preferred
  • Completed GOC-course and relevant GMDSS certificate
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
