The Program Coordinator / Youth Coordinator Relief is a unique role onboard and has the responsibility of relieving each of both positions while they will be on vacation during a 4-month contract.

The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to perform all administrative duties within the Program division, whilst working with the Program Manager to develop and deliver new activities and events. This position is the main contact person for Program contractors coming on board as well as being an active part of onboard and shoreside activities including Marina Days and Beach landings amongst others.

  • Assist Program Manager in the delivery of the daily program:
  • Assist with MC related duties as needed; i.e. enrichment lectures Q&A, representation in parties, activities and events
  • Assist in creating Ship’s program; parties, activities and events
  • Assist Program Division with event set ups as required; i.e. props, scenery, casting, rehearsals, planning and decorating for events, setting up and breakdown of events
  • Prepare Musicians schedule with Program Manager
  • Assist with Expedition pre-planning and logistics in regards to preparing required material for Expedition teams
  • Assist Program Manager with daily duties during expedition (plan, dispatch, sign-up sheets, coordinating with Expedition team)
  • Assist with the on board familiarization, communication and preparation of welcome packs and all other required forms for visiting Program Contractors: Lecturers, Musicians, Dive Masters, Artists amongst others
  • Set-up and break down venues for religious events
  • Distribute magazines to assigned areas, replace as needed

Responsible for all administrative duties related to the Program Division, including but not limited to:

  • Send calendar invitations for all Program Division related matters
  • Proof read all printed documents and publications related to the Program Division
  • Prepare daily updates for the intranet
  • Reference and update internal planning tool as required
  • Coordinate the scheduling and payment of piano tuning
  • Track Program Division yearly budget/spending
  • Fully utilize MMS to track purchases and submit orders
  • Process Program Division receipts for reimbursement
  • Maintain destination specific materials such as books and DVDs, including their ordering
  • Conduct an inventory of Program Division shipments and distribute accordingly
  • Assist in maintaining inventories and monitor the Program Division storage and locker spaces
  • Assist Program Division with research of external content and information

The Youth Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of the onboard children’s programs and activities. This position is seasonal and therefore only required for seasonal times during the year. The Youth Coordinator plans the children’s program, especially during Easter, the summer holidays and end of year festive season as well as keeping all premises as per Public Health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver the on board and shoreside youth program for children between the ages of 5 and 17, in an age appropriate manner, including but not limited to: arts & crafts, recreational games, competition, movie nights, Holiday themed events and Destination related activities
  • Keep track of time spent supervising and caring for each child to ensure compliance with youth safety guidelines
  • Ensure areas under responsibility are kept to Public Health requirements by completing daily walk-through and ensuring cleaning schedules are in place and followed
  • Create and place all purchase orders to ensure that Palette and The Zone have the most relevant and up to date equipment, games, books and Puzzles
  • Research appropriate Christmas gifts for each age group as well as gifts for various competitions and games onboard ahead of time and place order accordingly
  • Assist with the set-up, decoration and breakdown of venues for events organized by the Program Division when required
  • Assist with Ship tours, Zodiac landings, Marina days, Expeditions, and other activities as required

 

Hiring Requirements

·        Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience on a luxury cruise ship, private country club or similar, luxury hotel or resort

·        BA/BS 3-4 years Degree in Early Childhood Education (or foreign equivalent) preferred

·        First Aid and CPR certified

·        Excellent administrative, planning and organizational skills

·        Experience working in a multi-cultural environment

·        Advanced computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

·        Outgoing personality with good public speaking skills

·        Able to read, write and speak fluently in English

·        One additional language (German, French, Italian, Spanish) preferred
