The Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant is responsible for various tasks that include accounting, month end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis, forecast and budget updates and tracking of capital assets. Additional responsibilities include accurate managing and tracking of all financial transactions related to dry dock operations.

Responsibilities

            Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist with the preparation of the Company’s annual operating budget including:
    • Generating budget templates
    • Coordinating with business groups on completing templates
    • Rolling department budget templates into consolidated budget file
    • Understand and document underlying assumptions
    • Preparing operating budget supporting schedules
  • Assist with the preparation of the Company’s capital expenditure budget including:
    • Preparation of Company’s 10 – year capital plan template
    • Coordinating with business groups on completing templates
    • Manage the annual capital appropriation request form approval process
    • Update monthly forecasted capital expenditures for active years
    • Update the 10 – year capital plan as required
  • Analyze and explain variances on Company financial statements on a monthly basis versus budget and forecast
  • Perform any other financial analysis as assigned

Accounting & Reporting:

  • Assist with monthly financial close including producing Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and P&L statements
  • Perform monthly accounting including journal entries and reconciliations over assigned accounts – Fuel Expense, Maintenance and Repair and others as required
  • Track and record all capital expenditures by project, including Dry-dock expenses, and monitor and update fixed assets system. Analyze and report results of spending versus the Capital Plan or Forecast.
  • Assist in annual financial statement audit

Hiring Requirements

  • Minimum 4 – 6 years of experience working in the Finance and Accounting/ Auditing field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting, and full cycle accounting.
  • Resort or Cruise Industry experience a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and advanced excel formulas
  • Knowledge of Dynamics GP a plus, with the ability to use multiple software packages that support the system; knowledge of Fidelio and AMOS preferred
  • Strong financial preparation and analysis skills including the ability to assemble, analyze, and understand integrated spreadsheets and technical information
  • Must be self-motivated, possess initiative and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, problem definition and resolution skills, strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours and travel for periods of up to 2 weeks twice a year, except for Dry-dock years, when travel for a period of up to 4 weeks may be required
