Senior Project Manager – Luxury Mega Yacht

The Senior Project Manager will act as the leading and supporting role of onboard projects with a focus on Apartment refurbishment and refurbishment in public areas. This position will also be responsible for timeline management and processes as it relates to Dry-dock and Apartment Refurbishment Time Slots.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage onboard projects, including in-operation, Dry-dock and refurbishment projects as assigned and other project related items
- Create and maintain project plans, ensure all project requirements and objectives are properly documented and budgets are managed
- Manage the Apartment refurbishment process including proposals for timeslots, communication with contractors and DNVGL approval processes and maintain and update Refurbishment guidelines
- Track and report project status; ensure that risks are reviewed and mitigated, issues are escalated and resolved, and changes are documented and approved
- Liaise with other departments and vendors to outline milestones, establish work plans, responsibilities, scope and tracking timelines
- Ensure project progresses on schedule, accurately reflect current project status through regular updates
- Communicate project plan status on a regular basis, establish goals and analyses on project work process, track timing, budget, cost control and reporting.
- Communicate and offer support on updates and review technical drawings of the ship
- Work with Project Management tools to develop and improve processes
- Allocate resources and manage milestone and deadlines of all ongoing projects as assigned
- Manage approval processes related to installation onboard and “Lessons Learned” processes for projects
- Provide support and updates regarding IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, MLC and Maritime Regulatory Systems
- Assist with research and coordination of other Marine & Technical projects
- Perform duties as defined in the Shoreside Emergency Response Procedure
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working within the Marine & Technical aspect of the cruise industry, shipboard and/or shore side, with knowledge of ship operations and project management
- General knowledge of IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, MLC and Maritime Regulatory System
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
- Experience from dry-dock or refurbishment projects in a leading or supporting role
- Ability to work efficiently in fast changing environment and handle multiple complexities simultaneously
- Proven efficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Strong administrative skills and knowledge of Project Management tools such as MS Project
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders from a designer and refurbishment background as well as technical
- Ability to travel internationally and for extended periods of time during projects or as needed by the operations
